The work of becoming a team – what do team members need from one another to do the work that matters?
Teams don’t exist in isolation. Every team sits within a wider system — an organisation, its culture, its structures, its history and the pressures around it. What happens between people in a team is shaped by all of these things.
I work with teams to understand not just how they relate to one another, but how they work together to achieve what they are there to do.
Good team dynamics matter. But a team that simply gets on well isn’t necessarily an effective team. Real trust is built when people can depend on one another: to speak honestly, challenge when it matters, take responsibility, make difficult decisions and follow through.
My role is to help teams understand the system they are part of, become more aware of the patterns that shape how they work, and develop the capacity to do the work that only they, collectively, can do.
